MediaSilo, the premier video collaboration platform trusted by the biggest names in entertainment, sees enhanced review functionality, including side-by-side version comparisons, @ user mentioning, and range-based commenting to provide feedback on entire scenes. To provide protection when sharing videos for review, MediaSilo incorporates visible and forensic watermarking, dynamically inserting customisable viewer information into the file. Now MediaSilo also offers image and document watermarking, protecting non-video content including scripts, casting shots and marketing materials.
Also, MediaSilo is now seamlessly integrated with Atomos’ pioneering cloud-connected range of camera-mounted monitor-recorders, offering attendees a firsthand view of this innovative collaboration. It will mark the milestone by unveiling powerful new tools for producers and post facilities, new software and hardware, and the initial integration between FLOW and MediaSilo.
EditShare has always pushed the boundaries of media engineered storage solutions and will be demonstrating for the first time the new EFS NVMe, which enables creatives to work in demanding media formats such as DPX, OpenEXR, 4K/8K and beyond – all powered by the media aware industry standard file system, EFS. EFS NVMe provides unprecedented throughput, three times greater than the aggregate bandwidth of previous SSD generation servers, making it ideal for users working with VFX and other high bandwidth, high throughput environments.
EditShare completed its merger with Shift Media in September 2023, and at NAB 2024 the company is already unveiling major steps in integration and enhancements. Users of FLOW, the asset and workflow management platform integrated into EditShare’s storage systems, will be able to directly access all of the tools in the MediaSilo video collaboration platform to distribute viewing copies and collate annotations, speeding still further the processes of collaboration and content sign-off.
Within MediaSilo, collaborative creative editorial review improvements will include side-by-side version comparisons, user mentioning and range-based commenting. These advances further the effectiveness of MediaSilo as a review tool during the production and post timeline. To protect content, MediaSilo incorporates visible and forensic watermarking, which dynamically inserts viewer information into the file and is completely customizable including text and images. EditShare also recently released image and document watermarking support in MediaSilo, further bolstering its security capabilities for assets such as scripts, casting shots, and sensitive marketing materials.
Screeners.com, the preferred press screener solution of publicists and content security teams, will see a fresh look unveiled for the reviewer user interface. Publicists will have more branding customization options including in-video logo watermarks, specific color palettes on network pages, and broader options for key art. Reviewers will see an enhanced OTT-style experience with improved content recommendations, watchlists, and expiration notifications.

Corporate learning specialist migrates workflows to the cloud
Boston, MA, November 6, 2023 – EditShare®, the technology leader that enables storytellers to create and manage collaborative media workflows, has provided the migration path to the cloud for AMP Creative. With offices in Dallas and Seattle, AMP Creative brings a fresh approach to corporate learning, using video to create tailored programs that are immersive and compelling.
As a successful business, AMP Creative has a growing archive of content and elements which can be re-used in new projects. At the same time, it has to provide support for designers working today, allowing them to manage work in progress and create deliverables, as well as providing secure archiving.
For some years AMP Creative has used EditShare storage solutions to manage its media. More recently, business transformational programs, driven by the COVID-induced need to implement remote working, have led the company towards the cloud for much of its IT. It turned to EditShare to provide the same transparent transition for media workflows.
FLEX is the EditShare workflow and asset management platform for the cloud. It mirrors precisely the functionality of FLOW which AMP Creative already used to manage content and projects, with the same comfortable and familiar user interfaces.
The challenge was to implement a practical, affordable infrastructure to meet AMP Creative’s needs. The solution was to use EditShare FLEX to manage all content storage within AMP Creative’s existing AWS account, moving material between EBS and S3 storage tiers as required, and accelerating file transfers using CloudDat from EditShare partners Data Expedition.
Editors work at remote locations, using Adobe® Premiere® Pro. Projects and bins are created centrally in EditShare FLEX, and high quality proxies are transferred to the edit workstations. Once packages are completed they are rendered against the original media in the cloud. The result is that all creative staff are happy and AMP Creative was able to shut down its traditional server room, a significant saving for the business.

Designed to simplify storytelling, FLOW manages media assets and workflows across on-premise and cloud-based tiered storage environments. The integrated FLOW panel, which was developed with FLOW’s open API, provides DaVinci Resolve users a media gateway to assets and associated metadata. The FLOW Panel for DaVinci Resolve Studio lets editors, colorists, VFX artists and sound mixers move beyond their locally connected storage and search, browse, and access proxy and high resolutions versions of video and audio assets across multiple storage pools and archives. FLOW’s fast production tools can be used to quickly organize assets into folders and cuts-only sequences. With one click, users can import assets into DaVinci Resolve Studio, including clips, sub clips, and sequence markers. FLOW delivers the rich metadata and content directly into the DaVinci Resolve Studio bin and onto the timeline. Users can also upload assets from DaVinci Resolve Studio back into FLOW with one click, facilitating review and approval across the operation.

Support for Remote Proxy Editing Ideal for working in any remote scenario, the FLOW Panel for DaVinci Resolve Studio lets users edit with proxies – whether downloaded, streamed over a VPN, or played from central shared storage. This nimble proxy workflow benefits from the lightweight characteristics of highly efficient codecs like H.264/MP4. FLOW generates the proxies and tracks the relationship between high and low-resolution files. A menu toggle in DaVinci Resolve Studio lets users switch seamlessly between original and proxy versions, allowing them to check the original shots any time during editing. With both sets of files always available and accessible to DaVinci Resolve Studio, color grading, effect creation and conforming are greatly streamlined.
