UNMATCHED MEDIA STORAGE EXCELLENCE

EFS 410

Purpose-built for Mission-Critical Production

Representing the pinnacle of media storage technology, the EFS 410 is built to support mission-critical media production with high performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. Developed for environments that require rapid, secure access to massive volumes of media, the EFS 410’s advanced architecture allows teams to collaborate across projects with optimal uptime. With support for hundreds of concurrent users and multi-gigabit bandwidth, it offers a robust, flexible solution for modern broadcast, post-production, and media enterprises.

Scalable and Modular Expansion

EFS 410 is designed with limitless growth in mind. Starting with a minimum of a 3 node configuration,  enterprises can expand storage as needed, scaling up to 15PB and beyond. Each additional storage node easily integrates into the EFS single namespace, eliminating the management challenges of other forms of media storage. As you add more nodes to the cluster, the system’s throughput and performance increase at the same rate, so it keeps up smoothly with your growing storage needs. This linear scaling makes managing large media volumes easier and ensures the system stays efficient, no matter how much capacity you add.

Advanced Collaboration for Creative Workflows

The EFS 410’s architecture empowers collaboration on a massive scale, supporting simultaneous media access and project sharing across multiple teams. With integration for industry-standard editing tools, like Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve, the EFS 410 streamlines workflows and fosters productivity. The optional FLOW Asset Management enhances this further by providing workflow automation, remote browsing, proxy editing, AI powered metadata tagging plus a host of other powerful tools that ensure a smooth, end-to-end workflow.

Consistent High-Bandwidth Performance

EFS 410 guarantees uninterrupted high performance even during peak usage. Its unique metadata management system minimizes latency by storing metadata in fast memory, preventing delays for multiple asset requests. Additionally, EditShare Swift Read technology enables real-time access to media even if a storage node is temporarily busy, making it ideal for handling high-resolution media, including playout of UHD material, offering unparalleled bandwidth and responsiveness.

Fault-Tolerant Design for Unmatched Reliability

Reliability is fundamental to the EFS 410, which is equipped with redundant power supplies, hot swappable fans, RAID 6 protection, and mirrored, hot-swappable drives for uninterrupted performance. In case of the unlikely event of a hardware failure, data remains secure and accessible. With robust redundancy mechanisms, EFS 410 ensures business continuity and peace of mind for mission-critical environments. The system’s resilience extends to supporting entire node failures without data loss, thanks to data distribution across nodes.

High-Availability for Broadcast and Playout Applications

For broadcasters, the EFS 410 is a trusted choice for playout storage, approved by leading vendors and designed for continuous operation. High Availability (HA) configurations with dual metadata controllers ensure no single point of failure, making it a reliable backbone for global broadcast and telco operations. Advanced fencing mechanisms further enhance its reliability, making it a trusted partner for real-time media playout and broadcast applications.

NDI Support

The Ultimate EFS Storage Nodes now support direct ingest of live NDI feeds into an EFS MediaSpace, streamlining real-time production. With full Edit While Capture (EWC) support, users can begin editing while media is still being recorded. Capture both the main transmission feed and a clean feed for greater post-production flexibility. Need more inputs? Add a FLOW Ultimate Elite Worker Node for up to 8 NDI ISO ingest streams. By integrating live feeds into shared storage, EFS enables faster, more collaborative editing for broadcast, sports, and live events.

Now Available in a Single Node Configuration

An All in One configuration runs FLOW services and storage on a single EFS Node, eliminating the need for any additional hardware. Scale easily by adding FLOW Ultimate Production Nodes as more power is needed.

FLOW Asset Management includes powerful applications to enhance production efficiency from start to finish. Intuitive tools for media logging, cataloging, and editing, with integrated support for leading NLEs like Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Premiere Pro. ARK Media Archive automates LTO media backup and retrieval, keeping proxy files online for easy access to archived content directly within the production environment.
